What Jimmy Johnson accomplished  this season will  keep him in the record books for many years and his feat of four consecutive Cup championships may never be challenged again. Was  there anyone that we could have named instead?. Jimmy Johnson  may just be the best ever to strap himself into a NASCAR stockcar whom since his first full time season in NASCAR in 2002 has never failed to finish less than second in the points. There are several drivers you may say are better however there is no way to compare stats to what Mr. Johnson has accomplished and what makes this driver special is he has been very humble on each championship he has won.

 After a sub par season in the NASCAR sprint Cup series Dario Franchitti  returned to the Indy Car series and dominated by winning his second championship and proved he was the class of open wheel racing in the United States

In his final year of competition in the American LeMans series  Gil deFerran was our out right pick for driver of the year  however we honestly believe Gil will strap himself into a race car of some kind again

Donny Schatz driving for Tony Stewart racing won his 2nd WoO sprint car championship leading the points most of the season he was able to hold off Joey Saldana for the championship

It came down to the final run at the last event of the season for Tony Schumacher to out duel Larry Dixon to win his  6th NHRA Top Fuel championship and with that gained our Drag Racing Driver of the year
