Jimmy Johnson's accomplishment of winning The Nextel Cup for three consecutive years in a row is a feat that should have people considering him as one of the best ever to strap into a stock car. 

Considering he has never failed to finish outside the top five in overall points in his career in my opinion he is one of the best ever.

Hand picked in 2001 by Jeff Gordon, Johnson has proven time and time again he is a winner. When a driver is picked for the "driver of the  decade" there is no other choice except Jimmy Johnson.

Scott Dixon dominated the open wheel division this year and for the second time has been named Open Wheel driver of the year.

Dixon who won the 2008 Indianapolis 500 lead the point standings for most of the season.

Donny Shaltz  won his 3rd WoO Sprint title in 2008 and was picked as out Dirt and Pavement Driver of the year.

Schaltz whom seemed to be the favorite at any track all year was our unanimous choice

Laurie  Cannisterbecame the first woman in the history of the International Hot Rod Association to win a national championship as she did in 2008 by winning the Alcohol Funny Car title.

2nd generation driver David Brabham tops our choice for Sports Car Driver of the year. David whom is the son of Jack Brabham and brother of Geoff has proven racing fast runs deep.

The honorable mention list includes every driver that puts on a uniform and a helmet and competes.
