Annual Tulsa Shootout – Bacon Earns Pole of Outlaw Micro Sprint

Wheatley, TULSA, Okla. (January 1, 2009) – A record total of 473 Micro
Sprint Car entries took to the QuikTrip Center's Tulsa Expo Raceway on
Thursday to open the 24th Annual Tulsa Shootout.
With
61 heat races and five qualifying races logged into the books, Broken
Arrow, Oklahoma's Brady Bacon earned the pole position for Saturday
night's headline Outlaw Micro Sprint feature event as he makes a bid to
become the first back-to-back winner in Outlaw competition since Pete
Frazier accomplished the feat in 1993 and 1994.
Bacon
will start from the pole with California hotshoe Kyle Larson alongside,
with a second Oklahoma-California pairing of Scott Sawyer and Scott
Mauldin in the second row.
Gary
Taylor earned the pole position in the "A" Class, Ryan Ratliff
nabbed the pole in the Non-Wing division, California's Trent Carter earned
the pole position the Restricted "A" Class and Indiana's Craig
Ronk will start on the pole in the Junior Sprint feature.
